BRISBANE – 7 July 2008 : Australians have voted Auckland as one of their favourite destinations for business travel in a survey conducted by accommodation website, Wotif.com.

Auckland took out 8^th place on the list, beating Dubai, Beijing and Hawaii, with nearly 10% of the business travellers surveyed, selecting New Zealand’s largest city as their favourite.

London took line honours with 19% of the vote, pipping New York, Hong Kong and Paris in the process.

Commenting on the survey, Wotif.com’s New Zealand General Manager Tania Witheford said the results were a positive sign for New Zealand tourism.

Over 80% of respondents said they tried to add a leisure component to the beginning or end of their trip.

Notes to the Editor: Wotif.com’s Business Travel Survey gained 954 completed responses. 732 of these respondents had travelled for business at least once in 2007. Only responses from these 732 people have been used to calculate these findings.
